Radio The radio is Chile’s farthest reaching mass media. The country boasts more than 140 radio stations. Stations broadcast to Chile’s most isolated communities. Santiago has dozens of radio stations on both A.M. and F.M. frequencies. Santiago’s stations have large repertoires of music in English, but otherwise there is virtually no English programming. Some foreign news agencies, however, have Spanish-language programs on Santiago stations. Radio Universidad de Santiago broadcasts both BBC News and Voice of America News. The best sources of Chilean are Radio Chilena Solonoticias, Radio Bio Bio and Radio Cooperativa. Radio Chilena Solonotícias is Santiago’s only 24-hour news station. Addresses
