MAX TRUJILLO TESTIMONY

|
"I was arrested on Tuesday, December 8, 1987... in Santiago, on my way to a friend's house. Several heavily-armed individuals dressed as civilians participated in my arrest. They used a white service van and a taxi that appeared to be an Opala. They forced me to get in the van by hitting me with their fists and feet. Inside the van, the threw me on the floor and covered me with a blanket as one of these individuals sat on my shoulders and pointed his machine-gun at my head. That's how my nightmare began...
The vehicle took off in an unknown direction through the streets of Santiago. As we travelled I was hit in the head repeatedly, and threats against my life my family were made. After about 35 minutes, we arrived at a place that seemed far away from the city, because I couldn't hear any noise. I heard birds singing and then a large metallic door opening. The van goes in, they force me to get out, blindfolding and handcuffing me. But before they did so, I could make out a yellow or cream-colored house. They brought me inside, where I felt the presence of other people. The house did not seem to have any furniture."
