TRAVEL ART: WORK BY VICTOR GARCÍA
On Display at the Estacción Mapocho

(Aug. 13, 2004) “Passengers,” an exhibit featuring the work of Chilean artist/musician Victor García, is appropriately housed in Estación Mapocho, Santiago’s former train station. The exhibit consists of 28 prints and one collage, inspired by napkin studies and scrap paper sketches the artist compiled during two years of traveling around Spain.

The Danish Film “Reconstruction” Spins the Traditional Romance

(Aug. 13, 2004) In the process of communication, the story teller can often be more entertaining that the story itself. “Reconstrucción de un amor” (originally titled “Reconstruction”) is, as the Spanish title indicates, a love story. However, Danish director Christoffer Boe, through a clever combination of cinematographic techniques, manages to present this ubiquitous theme in a new and experimental manner.

(Aug. 13, 2004) By appearances alone, Los Insaciables would appear to be simply one more among the myriad restaurant/bars with aspirations to trendiness that can be found dotting yuppie-speckled Providencia. However, this seemingly innocuous restaurant hides a gimmick with the power not only to lure you in for a first visit, but to keep you coming back for more.
