LOCAL ARTIST ADOLFO JAVIER ROMERO REVEALS HIS FINEST GALLERY TO DATE

(July 23, 2004) “The Pendulum’s Root” exhibition brings closure after a long creative process for artist Adolfo Javier Romero, considered a member of Chile’s “new generation” of artists. Romero readily admits that he’s exhausted, though explains that his catharsis comes when viewers internalize the emotion and intensity of his paintings. He sighs, and looks a bit lost in the large, sun-scoured patio where he often creates his best work.

(July 23, 2004) Chilean born Jazz sensation Claudia Acuña will give a single concert in Santiago on Monday, August 2, at 7 pm. Organized by the Friends of the Teatro Municipal de Santiago (Corporacion de Amigos del Teatro Municipal), the concert is their annual fundraising event.

HARRY POTTER COMES TO CHILE
(July 23, 2004)Tens of enthusiastic “Harry Potter” fans descended on Cinehoyt’s La Reina last week for the first public screening of “Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban.” They came to attend a pre-screening theme party, celebrate with their fellow fans, participate in a mega trivia contest, collect some prizes and simply revel in the “Potter mania” surrounding the release of each new film based on the best selling books by J.K. Rowling.
