IN DEFENSE OF “DOT THE I”
(May 14, 2004) Girl meets boy. Girl kisses boy. Sparks fly. But it is the girl´s hen night. So far, so rom-com. But “Obsesion” (“Dot the I”) is not just another Meg Ryan slush-fest, leaving you retching into your popcorn. Despite receiving less than complimentary reviews, Matthew Parkhill's debut film is definitely worth seeing.

20TH CENTURY BRITISH OPERA ABOUT THE SOCIAL OUTCAST, “PETER GRIMES” MAKES CHILEAN DEBUT
(May 14, 2004) The 20th of May will witness the Chilean debut of one of the twentieth Century’s most celebrated operas. “Peter Grimes,” composed by Benjamin Britten, opens the 2004 Lyric Opera Season of the Municipal Theater of Santiago. This Chilean production of the British play is highly anticipated both for its cast and its stage director, the German Alfred Kirchner.

THE ART OF BUYING 2ND-HAND CLOTHING IN SANTIAGO
(May 14, 2004) During the two years I have lived in Chile, I have bought virtually all my clothes second hand. This is not (always) because I am broke, but rather because when presented with option A, ultra-tight-elastic-wear in weird Chilean sizes and option B, interesting long-lasting clothes in normal sizes, I opt for B.
