Ski and Snowboard - Termas de Chillan The best resort in southern Chile is Termas de Chillan. It is renowned for having the longest chairlift in the world (1.5 miles) and most consistent snowfall in all of South America. Consistent powder days have been recorded for the past six years. Be prepared to ski or board solo from the top. Chillan offers 28 runs, 9 lifts, and outstanding backcountry access. You'll have 22 miles to explore and cruise down South America's longest run (8 miles). Snowboarders will find a snowboarding park, half pipe, and big air. The area is meant for 30% beginners, 40% intermediate, and 30% advanced. Other activities include spa treatments, snowmobiling, Nordic skiing, and dogsledding. It is 5.5 hours from Santiago.
