a handful of interesting modern works. Attractive grounds with
great harbor views.
La Sebastiana:

and 3:30 to 6 pm.) One of Pablo Neruda's three houses. Reflects
the poet’s whimsical personality with a collection of superficially
incongruous objects acquired on his travels.
Museo de Historia Natural:
(Condell 1546. (56-32) 257441. Tues-Fri,
10am-1pm,2-6pm, Sat 10am-6pm Sun 10am-1pm.) In the Palacio Lyon
Mansion, an architectural landmark.
Museo Naval y Maritimo:
(Paseo 21 de Mayo. (56-32) 281845. Reached
by Ascensor Artillería. Tues-Fri, 9:30-12:30 and 2:30
to 6 pm, Weekends 11am-6 pm. US$1.) Valparaíso’s
best museum. Well maintained naval and maritime history exhibits.
Mercado Puerto:
A two-story market that also houses a few excellent
seafood restaurants.
Ascensores:
Be sure to take a ride in an ascensore, ancient funiculars which
are still the best way to reach the best panoramic views.
